Quite hard to photograph all the Swarvoski crystals which I sewed on. I made the background from Merino fleece - a higher proportion of white with pastel colours added in. The lace and silks are hand dyed.

As is often my way, I never got around to making any more felt Roses and decided instead to attach it to a felt bag I had made. Everything just needed to be assembled by sewing machine and I put all the pieces in a zip topped bag in the loft with all my craft materials.When my relative died suddenly and I arranged to see her at the undertakers I suddenly wanted to take my Rose to leave with her..

This post is duplicated on another of my blogs - as the subject matter overlapped.This has just been an experiment, so the next one might be a bit better.First of all I made the felt by needle felting dyed fleece. Then I cut out the shapes and did my best to sew them into a Rose bud effect. I would have liked the petals to have been thinner - but they need to be a certain thickness for stability.

This is a repeat posting of something I have just added to my main blog. ( in case someone just looks on this blog)The background (which is quite thick) was built up using dyed fleece in various autumnal colours and then extra dimension added by raising certain areas up higher.It was then embellished using dyed spun silk thread, dyed ribbon, silk, fibre and semi precious stones

It has been a long winter and illness and apathy have stopped me from finishing any of my work.I felt that I needed to make something bright and cheerful - and this was the result. Well... I've made start... The first photos shows a large piece that I have dry needle felted. I primarily have used white fleece and then decorated with coloured fleece fibres on the top. After I formed the piece I then wet felted it for added strength as I am going to attempt to turn this into a bag (I don't like wet felting as it is so messy!) These were my earliest pictorial pieces (made in July this year) - the 2nd, 3rd & 4th attempt at needle felting (the very first one is at the bottom of an earlier posting for this blog.They were small - and very simple -mainly because I didn't really know how to do them.
